Use of occlusal splint in subjects with TMJ disorders by general dental practitioners in Indian scenario

Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) constitute a global health concern, giving rise to both physical and financial burdens, as evidenced by symptoms indications indicative of masticatory muscle imbalances. These encompass manifestations associated with the muscles. Scant literature exists regarding utilization occlusal splints general dentists for addressing TMDs within Indian context. Employing cross-sectional questionnaire survey, present study aimed evaluate application in treatment temporomandibular issues dental practitioners. The inquiry involved administration designed investigate diagnosis, management, India. Responses survey questions, provided 314 practitioners, were subjected assessment analysis through statistical methodologies. For practitioners less than five years experience, 77.63% (n=118) participants reported no attendance at Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) programs, whereas 14.47% (n=22) attended single CDE session, 7.89% (n=12) multiple sessions related TMDs. Among those practicing ten years, 57.77% (n=52) did not participate any TMD-related while 24.4% one, 17.7% (n=16) more one. over 34.48% (n=20) attend CDE, 24.13% (n=14) 37.93% sessions.
